Our live courses use specially designed techniques to help you generate ideas, shape them into songs, and feel confident in your own creative voice — even if you’ve never picked up an instrument. We’ll break down what makes great songs tick, show you how some of the biggest hits were written, and guide you through creating your own music step by step.

 

From day one, you’ll be immersed in the creative process. We’ll use hands-on, practical exercises to help you tap into your creativity, collect your ideas, and bring them to life. We won’t just tell you what to do — you’ll learn by doing. And yes, you’ll have fun doing it.

For our Taster Days and Level 1 courses, no prior musical experience is required. You’ll feel supported and at ease as you explore your ideas, connect with others, and pick up the fundamentals of how music works. If you’ve ever listened to a song, you already have the instincts to start writing your own!

 

By the end of the full course, you'll even have the chance to hear your music performed — not bad for just eight weeks’ work.

Our Level 2 courses are ideal for those with some basic musical experience. If you've played an instrument a little or explored songwriting before, this is a great next step. Not sure if you're ready? Try a Taster Day or start with Level 1 — or get in touch and we’ll help guide you.

 

With our unique set of techniques, you’ll deepen your understanding of music and learn how to craft songs with more clarity and confidence.

Our Level 3 courses are designed for more experienced musicians — performers or instrumentalists who may be less confident in their writing. We’ll explore more advanced songwriting techniques, push into specific musical styles, and help you break out of creative ruts to unlock fresh ideas.

Our monthly drop-in classes are fun, friendly, and suitable for intermediate to advanced musicians, or anyone who's completed a level 1 (or above) course with us to help you make progress on anything you're writing at home.

 

Every session starts with creativity-focussed musical games and exercises to get you in the right frame of mind for making music, as well as level-appropriate group activities, individual tasks, and 1-1 time for personalised feedback to help you make progress with whatever it is you are working on, at whatever stage of the creation process it currently is.

Using all the elements of a song, you will get the chance to see how the greats wrote their hits, and how you can recreate some of that same magic yourself.
